Educational Disclaimer
LLM Prediction Arena is an information and entertainment resource. It is a scoreboard showing how well language models guess short-term price direction — which is mostly badly. Nothing here is advice, nothing here is a signal, nothing here is verified, and nothing here should be the reason you risk money.
What the Arena is for
Language models are routinely described as capable of predicting markets. The Arena tests that claim in public and in the open: fifteen models, five labs, three price tiers each, the same prompt every round, results read from a broker's demo account trade history rather than from our own arithmetic.
The interesting result is not who leads the table. It is how small and how unstable the differences are — including between a lab's flagship and its cheapest model, which is exactly the comparison the tier view of the leaderboard exists to make. Treat the whole thing as a demonstration of how hard short-horizon prediction is, not as evidence that someone has solved it.
Not financial advice
Nothing published on this site is investment advice, a personal recommendation, a solicitation or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument. We are not licensed to give financial advice and we do not give it.
We know nothing about your finances, your goals, your experience or your capacity to bear a loss, and nothing here is adjusted for any of them. If you want advice, get it from someone regulated to give it in your country, who has asked you those questions.
No responsibility for the accuracy of the data
We do not guarantee that anything published on the Arena is accurate, complete, current or correct, and we accept no responsibility or liability for it. That covers every price, prediction, rationale, outcome, balance, win rate, ranking and statistic on the site.
None of it is our own record. Prices, timings, outcomes and balances arrive through a live pipeline — a broker platform, a price feed, and several model providers — and are published as received, without verification. Any link in that chain can be late, drop out, or hand us something simply wrong.
So expect all of the following, because all of them happen: figures that disagree between two panels for a few seconds; a round that is voided after the fact; a balance restated once the broker corrects its own history; a model shown as silent when it in fact answered; gaps where a feed went down. We fix what we notice and we are under no obligation to notice.
This is a spectacle assembled from third-party data, not a system of record. It is not audited, not reconciled, and not fit to be cited, quoted as fact, or relied on for any purpose — least of all a financial one.
Not a trading signal
Model predictions are hidden until the round expires. This is not a formality — the direction a model chose is simply absent from the data the page receives until the trade is already settled, so there is nothing to copy while copying it could matter.
By the time you can read a prediction, the trade it belongs to is over. A revealed call is a record of what a model did, in a market condition that no longer exists. It is not a suggestion about the next round and must not be used as one — least of all by inferring a pattern from a model's recent calls and betting the pattern.
Demo accounts, virtual funds
Every trade on the Arena is placed on a demo account with virtual money at [BROKER NAME]. No real funds are at risk, no real order reaches a market, and no profit or loss shown here is real.
Demo results systematically flatter live trading. A demo account fills instantly at the quoted price, never slips, never has a deposit or withdrawal fee, never faces a widened spread in a fast market, and never involves anyone's real money — so it never produces the hesitation, the doubled stake or the abandoned plan that decide most real outcomes. A balance curve produced on a demo account tells you approximately nothing about what the same decisions would do on a live one.
You cannot trade on the Arena. There is no deposit, no withdrawal, no stake and no prize. "Beat the AI" is a free guess with nothing riding on it.
What a leaderboard position proves
Less than it looks. A binary call on a five-minute horizon is close to a coin flip, and a coin flip run enough times produces impressive-looking streaks, leaders and comebacks — all of them noise.
The scoreboard is not a fair coin
Fixed-payout trades do not pay you what they risk. If a winning trade returns 92% of the stake and a losing one costs 100% of it, then 52.1% is where a strategy merely breaks even — and a model calling direction at exactly 50%, which is what "no skill" looks like, loses about $4 of every $100 staked, every round, forever. A model can sit mid-table with a respectable-sounding win rate and still be steadily destroying its balance.
Small samples say almost nothing
Over 300 settled trades, a win rate wobbles by roughly ±3 percentage points from chance alone at one standard error, and about ±6 points at 95% confidence. That interval is wider than the gap between first and last place on most days. Which means: the ranking can reorder itself completely without a single model having changed, and a model at the top of the board may simply have been the luckiest one this week.
Also worth knowing
- Rounds a model skipped — no answer in time, or a refusal — are not losses, but they are not skill either. Answer rates differ between models and quietly change what a win rate is a percentage of.
- All fifteen models trade the same asset at the same moments, so their results are correlated. A calm hour flatters everyone; a violent one punishes everyone.
- Seasons restart. A short season makes chance look like form.
- We show drawdown and answer rate next to return on purpose. A ranking by return alone would be the most flattering and least honest way to present this.
The models are text generators
Each model receives recent price data and returns a direction plus a sentence of reasoning. That sentence is generated text, published unedited and unreviewed. It is written to be fluent, and fluency is not accuracy: a model states "momentum favours continuation" with exactly the same confidence whether it is right or wrong, and it has no way to know which.
The models are not financial analysts, have no access to order books, positioning or news beyond what we put in the prompt, and are not being asked a question that has a knowable answer. They are also forbidden to abstain — the instructions give them no neutral option, so every call on the board is a compelled guess. Read the rationales as an artefact of the experiment, not as analysis.
The AI Disclaimer sets out in full which parts of the page are machine-generated, exactly how the models are prompted and sampled, and every way their output goes wrong.
Past performance
Past results of any model, tier or lab do not indicate or guarantee its future results. A model that led the season may finish the next one last. There is no reason to expect a model's record to persist — and in a near-coin-flip game, the base case is that it will not.
Trading risk warning
Trading financial instruments carries a high risk of losing your money, and short-horizon fixed-payout products are among the fastest ways to lose it. A majority of retail accounts trading such products lose money. Never trade with money you cannot afford to lose entirely, never trade with borrowed money, and never treat trading as a way to recover a loss.
We make no claim, promise or suggestion that you can earn money — from trading, from the broker, or from anything the models do. If any advertisement for this site suggests otherwise, it is not ours, and we would like to know about it.
No affiliation with the labs
Anthropic, OpenAI, Moonshot AI, Alibaba and DeepSeek are not affiliated with the Arena, have not endorsed, sponsored or reviewed it, and have not agreed to take part. Their names and model names are used only to identify whose model is competing.
How each model is prompted, when it is called, how its answer is parsed and how it is scored are our decisions alone. A poor showing here is a result about our experimental setup at least as much as about the model, and it should not be read as a verdict on the model's quality in general.
Our affiliate relationship
We are paid a commission by [BROKER NAME] when someone opens an account through the links on this site. That is how the Arena is funded, and you should factor it into how you read our description of the broker.
What it does not affect: the models' results. Those are read from demo account trade history and are not adjusted, filtered or curated by us, whatever they show.
